CBT

COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY

A CBT approach will help you breakdown difficult situations to explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and physical sensations to better understand what is happening. CBT also draws from the past to understand your current struggles, and helps to shape a better future.

  • Cognitive - refers to our thinking

  • Behavioural - refers to what we do

CBT is strongly evidence based. This means lots of research has been done to see if it works and it has been shown to be an effective therapy in reducing symptoms of a variety of mental health concerns and is endorsed by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) which guides the NHS for example in what to use.
